I don’t know how to explain why this faux trailer about practicing making a film is funny. It just is.

Cosmetics companies in the UK have recently been in trouble for photoshopping eyelashes in ads for eyelash products. This satirical ad follows the format of beauty advertising, including the use of photo evidence to sell the secret of eternal youth: Photoshop.

Another good parody of anti-terror propaganda from the British Transport Police.

Check Boing Boing for more.

Oddly the word ‘piracy’ or ‘copyright’ do not appear on Wikipedia’s entry for Terrorist Financing.

According to an Ars Technica article from 6 months ago, copyright pirates face the same pressures as everyone else, ie. they have to compete with free, and DVDs are on their way to obsolescence. There’s no money in it.

Apparently this is a parody. One of the best posters in a series of Boing Boing remixes from 2 years ago. In one of the originals, the danger was someone looking at a CCTV camera.

Nevertheless, we all learned something: commercials on the beginnings of DVDs work. We will believe all sorts of crazy shit if you repeat it often enough: piracy funds terrorism. Piracy funds terrorism. Double plus good.

When we were in high school we were told that cannabis was like a natural sex change agent! Boys would grow boobs and lactate. We didn’t believe it, but it made us anxious and we learned never to trust authority. (Ironically, it turns out McDonalds does make boys grow boobs.)

Final Cut Pro X | The Reaction from Hitler

An astonishingly prescient and accurate portrayal of the reception of Final Cut Pro X. And it’s very, very funny. Typical Downfall parody, then.
